Chia Pets....What will they think of next?

I had the TV yesterday while cooking and a commercial caught my attention. The wonderful Chia Pet dynasty has topped their previous ridiculousness record...they have come out with the Presidential Edition of Chia Pets. For $19.99 you could own your very own bust of President Obama! I hope everyone waits in nervous anticipation to open Christmas presents this year...you know you want one! I wonder what President Obama thinks of these?

Help Portrait

I love the idea behind the Help Portrait, giving the gift of photos to someone in need. One on my favorite photographers in Corvallis Karl Maasdam is planning on participating in this project....you can visit his blog here to get the details or to connect with him. If you would like to get involved with Karl by donating items or services for the photo shoot please contact Karl, some ideas I came up with would be clothes for the photo shoot, a hair stylist, makeup, food for the family or person, or donate your beautiful backyard for the photo shoot. Updated Garden and Yard Pictures

I figured it was time to update the pictures of our yard and garden, since everything is blooming and our tomato plants are HUGE! My newest obsession are dahlias, I purchased some tubers from Swan Island Dahlias which is an Oregon company. I can't believe the results, long lasting colorful blooms, and my plants have been blooming since the end of June!

Because Josh has begun his countdown to the 2009 OSU Beaver Football season. With a little under two weeks to the first football game Josh's excitement has been increasing steadily over the past few weeks! We are going to make our first trip to an away game this season by following the Beavs to Las Vegas!
